The cooperative is designed to link sheep producers with each other, to promote and encourage sheep husbandry and allied interests with an emphasis on quality, and to sponsor and encourage exhibits and
shows pertaining to the industry. The cooperative also offers alternative markets for the state's wool supply.
The Rhode Island Sheep Cooperative works with state
and federal agricultural programs in their educational efforts, and sponsors and encourages suitable legislation to benefit Rhode Island sheep farmers and the industry.
